Château Le Crock

Château Le Crock 2021

Following three particularly hot vintages, Nature reminded us in 2021 that it was indeed she who set the tone, showing more of an oceanic side. Throughout the year, our teams had to be patient and courageous in the face of unpredictableweather conditions.

Thankfully, relief was on the way with dry, sunny conditions at the end of August, encouraging ripeness and leading to the most gratifying of rewards on September 27th, the first day of the harvest!
Château Le Crock 2021 reveals a remarkable aromatic palette of red fruits with wild strawberries. Its timeless style, though less exuberant, recaptures the freshness and charm of the Saint-Estèphe of yesteryear.

Decanter Georgina Hindle : 93 "Almost a ginger tone to the nose, it's so fresh: chinese spices, raspberry and violets. Super-tannic and youthful, high toned and a little bit austere, coating the mouth with fine but grippy texture. The fruit is rich and there is a nice seductive side to it, perfumed and so deep, it really settles on the mid-palate, giving you so much fragrance and flavour. Juicy and alive, refreshing but with quite a serious core. Greath menthol ending. A lovely Saint Estèphe, clearly still a baby that will need to grow over ageing but lovely initial elements and balanced all the way through to a long finish." 17.05.2022
Inside Bordeaux Jane Anson : 92 "Plenty of tannic with and power on display, good Saint Estèphe character, if harking back a little to the years when this appellation was full of body and fruit but with rusticity. Good quality though, with blueberry and blackberry fruits, full of flavour. "01/04/2022
